O.A Omonuwa, SAN is the Principal in O.A Omonuwa, SAN & Co. He is a Notary public, a Fellow of the International Dispute Resolution Institute, a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management, a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a Fellow of the Institute of Administrators and Researchers of Nigeria and an Officer Of The Order Of The Federal Republic, OFR.

O.A Omonuwa, SAN has over 33 years’ diverse dispute resolution experience as a top-notch advocate in arbitration and litigation in banking, land, taxation, oil and gas, Constitutional law, election petitions, criminal and commercial disputes. He further underwent training in the International and Commercial Arbitration at Keble College, University Of Oxford.  O.A Omonuwa, SAN has over the span of his career represented an array of local and international clients.

He has served on several committees and professional bodies in various capacities such as the various committees of the Nigerian Bar Association, Law Officers Association of Nigeria, Edo State Judicial Service Commission, Sub Committee Legal of the Edo State Land Use and Allocation Committee, Edo State Technical Committee on privatization and commercialization.

O.A Omonuwa, SAN has also had a stint at public service when he was appointed the Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Edo State in 2007 to serve as the chief law officer of the state. As Attorney General, he transformed the Justice sector in the state.

O.A Omonuwa, SAN is an erudite writer and speaker and has presented a number of academic works at different fora, including:

  1. 1. The Nigerian State in the Aftermath of the Centenary, The Roe of the Bench and Bar (2014, NBA Law Week)
  2. 2. Protecting or exposing our Court: A Synthesis of the Advocate’s Duties to the Court.
  3. 3. A Discourse on the Techniques for Drafting a Good Brief of Argument (2012, NBA Law Week).

His most recent book is Forensic Advocacy and Election Litigation in Nigeria (Mindex Publishing Co. Ltd., 2015).
